Restore the Core: Pelvic Floor Education & Yoga Practice

The pelvic floor is the foundation of our core — supporting the organs, stabilizing the spine and pelvis, and influencing breath, posture, continence, sexual health, and overall vitality. Yet for many, this area remains misunderstood or overlooked until discomfort, weakness, or dysfunction arises.

This workshop blends practical pelvic floor education with a guided yoga practice to help you understand your body, build deep core connection, and develop tools for lifelong support.

During our time together, you will learn:
• What the pelvic floor is and how it functions
• Common pelvic floor disorders, prolapse insights, and contributing factors
• How breath, alignment, stress, and lifestyle impact the pelvic floor
• Techniques to cultivate balance — not just strength, but relaxation and tone
• How yoga and mindful movement can support pelvic floor health

Following the educational portion, we will move into a 45-minute yoga practice focused on the pelvic floor and deep core through breath, awareness, mobility, and gentle strengthening. Modifications will be offered throughout, making this workshop accessible for most bodies.

You will also receive take-home handouts to support continued practice, including key points from the lecture and pelvic-floor-friendly movements you can integrate into daily life.

Vinyasa & Meditation @ LOTHCC

Vinyasa Yoga is a rhythmic movement class linked to breath; poses are dynamically linked to each other for smooth transitions and near continuous movement. Each class will be different to serve the needs of attendees. Some classes can be fast-paced, with each breath signaling a new pose, while other classes may be more mindful of the engagement of poses, offering deeper instruction and taking several breaths per pose. Moderate awareness of yoga poses is recommended.

After savasana, we’ll continue inward with guided breathwork and meditation, giving you the tools to calm the mind, center your energy, and leave feeling grounded, clear, and renewed.

Join us in the clubhouse for a gentle evening yoga class designed to help you stretch, strengthen, and improve balance and range of motion. Perfect for beginners and those seeking a more accessible practice, each session emphasizes proper alignment and integrates mindful breathwork throughout.

Chair Yoga for Healthy Aging @ Shield Medical Group

Experience a therapeutic yoga practice tailored to support common challenges of aging, including balance, mobility, and joint health. Led by a certified yoga therapist, each session incorporates gentle movement, breathwork, and guided relaxation to promote strong muscles and bones, enhance flexibility, and nurture emotional well-being. Whether you’re new to yoga or seeking to adapt your existing practice, you’ll receive the attention and modifications to safely meet your needs.

What to Expect:

  • Improve balance and gait through focused poses and functional movement.
  • Ease stiff joints and expand range of motion with targeted stretches.
  • Strengthen core and support stability for enhanced confidence in daily life.
  • Cultivate mindfulness and mental clarity through breath awareness and relaxation.

This small group class (up to 10 participants) is free, but we do recommend pre-registering to reserve your spot. No prior yoga experience is required, and if mobility is a challenge - no worries! We are using a chair in our classes. This doesn't mean it will be a strict chair yoga class, however a chair makes class more accessible and more fun!

Please plan to arrive on time; we begin each class with a grounding practice to help you settle in. Dress comfortably and bring a bottle of water. If you have a mat and yoga props, please bring them. If you do not have a mat or yoga props, there is a limited supply that can be provided for the class.

"In the first 60 minutes we engage in a moderate vinyasa yoga practice, followed by 10 minutes of pranayama breath exercises and then conclude with a brief meditation. Although every class will include forward bending, balances, twists, heart openers, core strength and hip openers, each individual class will focus more strongly on one of these areas, while maintaining the balance by including asanas from the other areas. For example, one day the class may focus on heart opening postures while still including some forward folding, twists, core strength, balances and hip openers. On another day, the class may focus more on twists. In that way, the yogi is ensured of a well-rounded practice in every class while developing more proficiency in these individual areas."
