This class is designed to help you move better in your everyday life—on and off the mat.

As defined by the Empowered Health Institute, “Functional movements are movements based on real-world situational biomechanics. They usually involve multi-joint movements across multiple planes that allow your body to move fluidly throughout your daily activities.”

In this class, we will explore a yoga-based approach to functional training—strengthening the body in ways that support real-life actions like squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, and walking. These multi-joint, multi-planar movements help improve coordination, balance, and overall resilience, making daily tasks feel more easeful and sustainable.

Expect a thoughtful blend of movement, breath, and awareness, with an emphasis on proper mechanics, joint support, and injury prevention. This class is suitable for all levels and is especially supportive for those looking to maintain independence, improve mobility, or build strength in a safe and practical way.
